What does it mean to be seismic certified?

SnapCabs are certified in both stability and lateral capacity, based on calculations and testing in accordance with ASTM E72, and provide a structural engineer of these records with anchorage recommendations in worst case seismic zones and importance factors.

This certification additionally complies with and references 2016 CNC, IBC and ASCE 7–10 codes.

What does it mean to be CARB Phase 2 compliant?

SnapCab is a CARB Phase 2 compliant manufacturer. CARB Phase 1 and Phase 2 are part of California's Composite Wood Products Regulation which has to do with reducing formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, hardwood plywood, particleboard, and medium density fiberboard.

What about air quality?

SnapCab conducts third-party testing to validate the air quality for the users of our products. We have a responsibility to ensure that our Workspace products provide the utmost safety and usefulness to the people that use them. It is a responsibility we take very seriously.

The air quality testing performed includes testing for formaldehyde and VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) levels through an AIHA accredited laboratory. Our most recent testing results conducted in 2019, indicate formaldehyde and VOC levels present are 18 and 45 times below the maximum 8-hour exposure limit guidelines provided in OSHA and the California Department of Public Health, respectively.

Flexibility

What makes SnapCabs flexible?

SnapCabs are mobile, allowing them to be easily moved from one space to the next. The panels are customizable, and include laminate and acoustic dampening material options, as well as an option to include Corning® Gorilla®Glass! On top of this, the panels are strong enough to mount televisions, computer monitors, air conditioners and more.

You can also use any furniture you'd like!

Plus, SnapCabs were uniquely designed to interconnect with the help of the

SnapCab Connects wall system.

This great video showcases the many customization options you have with SnapCab.

Can I choose my SnapCab panel colors?

Yes! SnapCab offers endless flexibility with standard or custom paneling options for the interior and exterior of your SnapCab as well as your SnapCab Connects. Whether you're looking for invigorating colors, acoustic dampening solutions or a calming, nature–inspired environment, SnapCab has the answer.

Sustainability

How sustainable are SnapCab products?

SnapCab is a company that embraces and practices the principles of lean manufacturing – a method that focuses on overall waste reduction.

Our standard SnapCab panels with plastic laminate finish contain 88 percent post–consumer recycled content. The recyclable heavy-gauge aluminum extrusion substructure and stainless steel door handles are also made from recycled materials.

The standard ceiling tile contains a minimum of 80 percent previously recycled polyester fiber from plastic bottles, while the upgraded acoustic panels contain a minimum of 45 percent.

Instead of shipping each SnapCab pod in a separate crate, the SnapCabs are assembled and shipped as its own crate, with the panels wrapped and protected inside.

The environmental savings are estimated to include the following:

• Elimination of two large 96x48x48 plywood crates

• Fuel reduction with the elimination of transporting two plywood crates

• 30 percent reduction in the use of plastic and non–biodegradable plastic wrap

• Built–in pallet at the bottom of the SnapCab eliminates the need forseparate pallets

Sound Privacy & Ventilation

Talk to me about sound privacy and ventilation.

We'd love to! We believe one of the most important characteristics of a private and collaborative workspace is sound privacy. To provide you with the best sound privacy solution, we perform extensive acoustic testing on each of our products.

Learn more by watching the video below.

Visual Privacy

Talk to me about visual privacy.

Sure! We believe visual privacy is just about as important as sound privacy. That's why we've designed SnapCabs to have three solid walls and one glass front. When you're working inside, you'll always be able to see what's going on in front of you.

With that said, if you're interested in customizing a SnapCab pod to include two clear glass walls, please contact us!

Here's a video to further explain visual privacy in a SnapCab.

Connectivity

How do SnapCabs connect to power?

When it comes to electricity, it only takes one three-prong plug to supply the SnapCab with lighting and ventilation, as well as activate a power block on the table, which houses multiple standard and USB outlets.

How many outlets are inside a SnapCab?

All SnapCab Workspace products (excluding the SnapCab Talk) include a power unit with a 15 amp rating, that supplies two 110VAC outlets and four standard USB charging outlets.

The SnapCab Talk has a smaller power unit that is designed to fit better while supplying power and charging outlets appropriate for one person.

Is the power bar mounted to the table?

It can be! However, it's flexible enough to be placed on the floor or anywhere else inside

your SnapCab.

Mobility

Are SnapCabs mobile?

Yes! SnapCabs are mobile. They come with four heavy-duty casters that allow you to move the pods to and from any location in your environment.

Watch this video to learn more about SnapCab mobility.

If I bolt my SnapCab's seismic feet to the floor, will the pod lose its mobility?

No. If you do secure the seismic feet to the floor, they can be easily unscrewed and lifted

as needed.

How much weight can my SnapCab hold?

Thanks to their heavy-duty casters, all SnapCabs have a carrying capacity of 1800 pounds. So, in other words, a lot!

Lighting

Talk to me about lighting.

We're happy to! Depending on the SnapCab's size, they feature two to three LED downlights. The LEDs have been strategically placed to ensure full light coverage over the work area, to prevent shadows.

You have the option to upgrade to perimeter LED lighting (back) for full whiteboard coverage.

This video will tell you more about SnapCab pod lighting.

Furniture

Do SnapCabs come with furniture?

Furniture is optional but we do recommend our custom designed bench and table because they've been designed specifically for use in a SnapCab.

Our benches are made from a poly-leather material, and our tables are made from an integrated solid phenolic.

Learn more about furniture options in this video.

Why should I use SnapCab furniture?

The furniture was designed with a diner booth in mind – a high-quality, spacious and comfortable bench seating and table space. They promote connection, collaboration and comfort. We highly recommend it!

Can I use my own furniture?

You sure can!
