SnapCab Secures Federal Investment to Drive Growth and Innovation

SnapCab secures federal investment to expand manufacturing, drive innovation, and create jobs in Eastern Ontario.

July 28, 2025

On March 5, 2025, SnapCab welcomed Mark Gerretsen, Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands, along with government representatives, special guests, and members of the media to our facility for an exciting announcement. The Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), has invested in SnapCab and six other local businesses to drive innovation, create jobs, and strengthen the economy in Eastern Ontario.
We were proud to share our workspace and company culture with our distinguished visitors, showcasing what makes SnapCab a leader in modular workspace solutions. Our guiding principles—Be Kind, Be Authentic, Be Useful—are at the core of everything we do. These values shape how we work together as a team and how we create innovative solutions for our customers. They distinguish us not only in the market but also as a business committed to meaningful growth and impact.

SnapCab announces federal investment, showcasing our facility, company culture, and exciting expansion plans.

Investing in Canadian Innovation

During his visit, MP Gerretsen announced a combined investment of nearly $5.9 million for the following businesses:

  • Cancoil Thermal Corporation
  • Custom Plastics International Ltd.
  • Kingston Frameworks
  • Lighthouse Cabinetry
  • OPTT Inc.
  • SnapCab
  • Spectra Plasmonics Inc.

SnapCab’s share of the funding will support an 18,000 sq. ft. expansion of our facility at 70 Railway Street in Kingston, Ontario—increasing our manufacturing space by 50%. This expansion will boost production capacity and create new jobs, further strengthening the local economy.

SnapCab’s Culture and Values

A key highlight of the event was the opportunity to share our unique company culture. At SnapCab, our philosophy is simple: Be Kind, Be Authentic, Be Useful. These values not only define how we work together but also drive our product development and customer service.

Our founder, Glenn Bostock, often says, “The gold is in the problems.” This mindset drives our approach to innovation. We see challenges as opportunities to create meaningful solutions for our customers. Our latest innovation, the Video Remand Pod, reflects this philosophy. Designed to facilitate secure video court appearances, it addresses a critical need in the justice system while reinforcing our commitment to practical, user-focused solutions.

To explore the values that define SnapCab’s approach to business, check out Glenn Bostock’s upcoming book, A Human Business. The book delves into how businesses can thrive by embracing kindness, authenticity, and usefulness.

Looking Ahead

This investment marks an exciting new chapter for SnapCab. With increased manufacturing capacity and enhanced resources, we’re ready to develop new innovations and continue providing high-quality, customizable privacy pods that meet the evolving needs of modern workspaces.
We extend our gratitude to the Government of Canada, per FedDev Ontario, and everyone who has supported us along the way. We’re excited to continue growing, innovating, and contributing to a stronger, more dynamic economy.
